Meet the Teacher

Marina  began studying music at the age of 9.  As a teenager, she won awards for piano and flute in music competitions in Nova Scotia.  Marina studied music education at Acadia University (piano major and voice minor).  She graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and was the recipient of the Acadia University Bronze Medal for  scholastic achievement in music.  Marina taught Elementary School Music in Cape Breton and Shelburne. She pursued graduate studies at Bob Jones University in Greenville,SC, where she  received a Master of Education  degree in the field of Music Ed. Marina has been teaching piano privately for 30 years.  She has been a church pianist/musician for 36 years. Her students have praised her for her kindness and patience. Marina enjoys sharing her love for the piano and its repertoire, and delights in seeing her pupils excel in piano technique, musicianship and performance skills. Marina has also taught beginner flute and voice, as well as hymn playing.
